What to do if a bee gets into your house
Compartir
A bee inside the house is usually more scared than you are. It just wants to get back outside. These steps will help you get it out without anyone getting stung.
1. Don't hit it or make sudden movements
Sudden movements make it nervous and increase the risk of a sting. Stay calm and keep children and pets away.
2. Open windows and turn off the lights
Bees are drawn to light. Open the nearest window, close the blinds on the rest, and let it find the exit on its own.
3. If it doesn't get out, catch it without touching it
When it lands on a window or wall, cover it with the dome of a Bug Catcher and slide the cover. You'll see it inside without crushing it, and you can release it outside in seconds.
4. Release it outside
Open the cover outside, away from the window. Bees are essential for plants and crops, so it's better to get them out than to kill them.
Important if you are allergic
If you or anyone in the house is allergic to stings, do not approach it: leave the room and ask for help. In the event of a reaction after a sting (severe swelling, difficulty breathing, or dizziness), call 112.
